"I’ve had irregular cycles since I was 15 years old. Due to the extreme pain of menstrual cramping and very heavy bleeding associated with my irregular cycles, I began seeing a doctor who pushed birth control pills. There was no real investigation into the reason for the irregularity, severe pain, or extremely heavy bleeding just a blanketed explanation to my parents saying that birth control pill was the best option because it would suppress my cycles and make them regular as well as help with the bleeding and cramping. At 17, I was diagnosed with PCOS and told birth control pills were the only option to control the symptoms. In my early 20s, I began trying to find a solution to the PCOS other than birth control pills – which I had stopped taking at that point. Doctor after doctor provided no help and a blanketed “birth control is the best option” and a very clear statement of: “You will probably never get pregnant.” I had accepted it for what it was – that I would be that woman who would never be able to make a family. After I met my husband, we decided to start trying and see what my options would be to have a child if it was possible. I was 27 at the time – we began to see a local doctor in Jackson who after a PAP discovered abnormal cells and I needed to have a LEEP procedure. After my LEEP, I began to talk to people around Jackson and was told to go to the Women’s Clinic for infertility related matters. I made an appointment with Dr. Soll. After going through our entire story and my medical history, Dr. Soll recommended that we make an appointment with Dr. Gray and discuss the Creighton Model Natural Family Planning program. That was the day our lives were changed forever and we hadn’t even known it yet.
Our first appointment with Dr Gray was in October of 2012. We discussed my history, our options, and the NaPro program. Through his efforts, it was discovered that not only did I have PCOS to battle but also blocked tubes, endometriosis, and I was anovulatory. In December of 2012 I had a selective HSG, and laparoscopy for endometriosis removal, and D&C to clear my blocked tubes and assist with the fertility efforts. In January of 2013, we began the NaPro program and meeting with Laura [our FertilityCare Practitioner] regularly. With Dr. Gray having the ability to review and discuss my NaPro charts, he was able to identify potential problems in my cycle and find solutions – SOLUTIONS – to the problems and difficulties as they were presented. There were no blanketed statements and a generic answer of “You’ll have to take birth control” nor the words, “You can’t get pregnant” ever spoken. From day one, it was very optimistic with things explained in “regular” context and not cited from medical books that only doctors fully understand. Never were we confused or felt like we were not completely involved in what was going on.
On June 23rd – after a total of 18 months of actively trying to conceive with medical assistance, and our 6th cycle of the NaPro program – I took a pregnancy test planning for it to be negative so I could make my appointment for my next cycle review, and to my surprise … it was POSITIVE!! On February 22nd, 2014 I gave birth 11 days early via c-section to a beautiful baby girl. In only 6 cycles with this program, Dr. Gray was able to provide treatment and solutions as needed to make what I thought was impossible, possible. We will forever be supporters of this program, as well as Dr Gray – who has a genuine desire to help couples and women achieve their goals. Now at 11 weeks post-partum, we are using the program to avoid pregnancy and will also use the program again when we decide to try for another child. We will be forever grateful to those involved in helping us make our dream come true!" T&JH
"My husband and I went to several doctors trying to find someone who could help control my PCOS symptoms and treat my infertility. Each of these doctors told us our only option was IVF and one doctor even told me I have a 0-4% chance of ever conceiving. Not only did my husband and I not feel comfortable with artificial methods such as IVF, these clinics just ignored my health problems and did not offer personalized treatment for me. After three years of this frustration and feeling helpless, we found Dr. Gray and began charting with the Creighton Model FertilityCare System. This system has provided answers as to how to approach treating my PCOS that no other method or doctor was able to provide. My husband and I now have an in-depth knowledge of my cycles and reproductive health. The charting process can be learned quickly with one of the trained, highly qualified instructors. We truly look forward to our follow-up sessions with our instructor, and it is so nice to have that personalized care and chance to ask questions. Dr. Gray is a very compassionate doctor who truly cares about his patients and has a real passion for the Creighton Model and NaProTECHNOLOGY. The first time my husband and I met with him we knew we were in good hands. Dr. Gray has always provided us with the most exceptional care and he is patient to address all of our concerns and questions. Through medical and surgical treatment, I have already seen improvements in my symptoms, and I know if we ever do conceive it will happen using this method!" P & MM
"My husband and I had been trying to conceive for over two years. Prior to going to Dr. Gray, I was seeing a fertility specialist who told us my case was unexplainable. My husband and I did not want to use artificial methods to conceive, so it was an answer to our prayers that a friend of a friend suggested that we go to Jackson, TN and see Dr. Paul Gray. After our first visit with Dr. Gray, I stopped worrying and realized that Creighton Model FertilityCare System was the best method. Dr. Gray was very understanding and compassionate. We were assigned a fertility care instructor and she was in touch with us several times over the phone to teach us how to chart and see if we had any questions. Charting was easy and this method was so inexpensive. Within a few months of charting and seeing Dr. Gray, I was pregnant. We were ecstatic!!!! Our daughter was born on August 23rd, 2011. She is truly a miracle and she brings us so much joy each day. I still look at her and can’t believe she’s mine. I am forever grateful." P & KN
